Background

IEEE International Conference on Audio, Speech and Language Intelligence (ASLI)

The IEEE International Conference on Audio, Speech and Language Intelligence (ASLI) brings together the communities of the IEEE Automatic Speech Recognition and Understanding Workshop (ASRU) and the IEEE Spoken Language Technology Workshop (SLT) into a single flagship conference dedicated to audio, speech, spoken language, and multimodal AI research.

  • The conference provides a premier international forum for researchers, practitioners, and industry leaders to present and discuss the latest advances in audio and speech processing, spoken language understanding, conversational AI, and multimodal foundation models
  • This conference aims to foster deeper collaboration across the speech, audio and language communities while highlighting emerging directions at the intersection of speech, language, audio, and multimodal intelligence.
  • We invite submissions describing original and unpublished research contributions, datasets, systems, benchmarks, applications, and analyses related to speech, audio and spoken language technologies.

Topics of Interest

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Speech recognition
  • Speech enhancement and extraction
  • Speech event detection
  • Speech translation
  • Speaker recognition, identification and verification
  • Speech generation
  • Spoken language processing
  • Multi-modal/cross-modal speech and language processing
  • Low resource/multilingual speech processing

About ASRU and SLT

ASLI continues the long-standing traditions of:

The new unified conference aims to serve as the premier venue for the broader spoken language technology community.

Paper Format

  • Submissions must follow the standard IEEE two-column conference format.
  • The main text must not exceed six pages.
  • Unlike previous ASRU/SLT workshops, ASLI imposes no page limit on references or appendices.
  • Authors may also submit supplementary materials as a single zip file.
  • Please note, however, that the paper must be self-contained without the appendices or supplementary materials;
  • that is, reviewers are not required to read the appendices or examine the supplementary materials when evaluating a submission.

Publication and Presentation

  • ASLI 2027 will introduce a new Findings track in addition to the main conference.
  • The submitted papers with top recommendations will be accepted to the main conference and published in the Proceedings of ASLI.
  • Papers accepted by ASLI 2027, but not selected for the main conference, will be published in the Findings of ASLI.
  • Both Proceedings of ASLI and Findings of ASLI will be included in IEEE Xplore.
  • At least one author of each accepted paper (main conference or Findings) must register for ASLI 2027 and present the paper.
